An hour and a half of Spanish and two hours and a half of flamenco guitar. If you want to dedicate most of your time to flamenco guitar but you also need to learn Spanish. You will have a tutor for Spanish and one for flamenco and you will receive a certificate with a very complete report and a valuation.

During your three months or more, you’ll have one and a half hours of Spanish classes in the morning and two hours and a half of flamenco guitar classes in the afternoon Monday through Friday. In addition to this, we offer you half an hour of daily group tutoring just before the first class. The progress you make will be closely followed by a tutor that will be assigned to you at the beginning of the course and who will counsel you about your development and academic needs. At the end of the course you will receive an assistance certificate together with a detailed report about your progress and a valuation of the acquired knowledge, made by your tutor.

In the morning, you generally start studying in the grammar analysis and practice class of the level that corresponds you and once you have acquired the grammatical knowledge of that level, you get into the conversational practice class. This way you will complete our syllabus, participating alternatively in the two classes that form the Intensive Spanish Course.

During the afternoons, you will take two hours and a half of guitar classes every afternoon. This course combines the Intensive Guitar Course and the course on Rhythmic Bases, which will allow you to advance properly, studying every technique and learning the ‘falsetas’ (small variations on the original melody), chords and rhythms of the different ‘palos’ (or styles). You will have a daily hour and a half of guitar classes in the beginner/intermediate level and an extra hour dedicated to practicing the rhythmic bases of each palo. This level is prepared for students that play other styles of guitar and want to learn the techniques of flamenco guitar.

During the first class you will dedicate half an hour to the general technique of flamenco guitar and an hour to a specific palo, changing every two weeks. You will study the correct placement of the hands and the main ways to play with the right hand (pushing and pulling). There will also be simple exercises for arpeggios, ‘picados’ (quickly playing with the index and middle fingers), thumb technique, ‘alzapúa’ (plucking upwards with the thumb), tremolo and strummings. The following hour you will study a specific palo, such as: tangos, fandangos de Huelva, alegrías, soleá, etc; studying its rhythm, short falsetas and chords.

During the second class you will have an hour dedicated exclusively to studying the rhythmic bases of those weeks' palo, so you know how to play the rhythm on the guitar. You will practice the basic chords and most common rhythmic variations, with their different strummings. You will study the same palo in both classes every two weeks, so you can make a more complete study of each.

The guitar instructors are themselves flamenco professionals with years of teaching experience. All of them perform on stage at the various tablaos or local theatres in Granada giving their students an opportunity to see them “in action” as artists outside of school.

In addition to this you may also participate for one week in our Understanding Flamenco: Rhythm for free, at the level that suits you best, as a complement to the guitar classes.

2019  public holidays: 28th February, 19 April, 1st May, 20th June, 1st November and 6th December.

There will be no class.
