Every two weeks we teach the dances of the many distinct styles or palos: Bulerías, Tangos, Alegrías, Soleá, Seguiriyas, and more. You will learn to distinguish between the different styles by dancing the choreographies "a compás" or with guitar accompaniment.

This class of a week or longer consists of an hour and a half of instruction Monday through Friday. Every two weeks students learn a different choreography of the most common flamenco dances, changing “palos” or styles depending on student level. The beginning level usually focuses on tangos, alegrías, fandangos, and bulerías. At the intermediate level, students normally study dance alegrías, soleá por bulerías, bulerías, farruca, fandangos, tientos, tangos o garrotín. At the advanced level, it’s possible to study an array of dances with the most frequently studied being the alegrías, soleá por bulerías, caña, seguiriya, martinete, soleá, taranto, tientos, farruca, tangos, bulerías, jaleos, fandangos, verdiales or rondeña. The students train with guitar accompaniment for half of their time in all of the levels.

In the Intensive Dance Choreography program, we place the most importance on the study of the “compás” or rhythm and the distinct styles of flamenco, its characteristics, and how to encapsulate and express it all in ances in conjunction with the accompanying guitar and voice.

This course also counts with half-time live guitar accompaniment.

It is also possible that the teachers change every 2 weeks.
