Young dancer Pilar Fajardo was born in Algeciras, Cádiz and pursued her passion to dance flamenco in her hometown learning the basics of dance. Pilar continued her flamenco classes in Jerez de la Frontera with Antonio el Pipa, Maria del Mar Moreno and Angelita Gómez among other significant teachers and there, she began her teaching experience by teaching the beginner levels.

In 2002 she moved to Granada and successfully passed the entrance exam into the Mario Maya Performing Arts Centre training with flamenco greats as Mercedes Ruiz, Yolanda Heredia, Alejandro Granados, Andrés Peña, Belén Maya, Rafaela Carrasco and the principal teacher and owner, Mario Maya. Later in her training she also learned from masters Antonio Canales, Manuel Linan and Rocío Molina which provided Pilar with solid training and technique that established an outstanding flamenco career. Pilar's captivating performances have taken place in various peñas and theatres including Peña de la Platería de Granada, Peña del Cante Grande, Algeciras and Teatro de Yecla, Murcia which lead her to a part in the Adrián Sánchez Flamenco company presenting the show “Taracea” in February 2006 at the grand Teatro Isabel La Católica, Granada.

Pilar has also showcased her talent at Granada's Tablao Venta del Gallo, Los Tarantos and Reina Mora and internationally at numerous gigs around Europe, South America, China and Africa where she has participated in various festivals and collaborated with UNESCO "United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization" demonstrating her strong performance abilities and captivating audiences with her distinct modern and elegant style. In 2011 Pilar proved to be a force to be reckoned with when she presented her own show “De Cai a Graná” in the II Festival of the caves of Sacromonte, certainly a highlight of her professional career. At present Pilar continues to “wow” audiences regularly dancing in the peñas and clubs of Granada as well as inspiring students with her graceful feminine style of flamenco to all levels at Carmen de las Cuevas.
