Dancer

Javier is a young dancer from Catalonia with Andalusian roots. He started dancing flamenco at the age of 10. At 14 he entered his dance career and joined Mari Carmen Fraga’s Compañía de Ballet Clásico Español y Flamenco, refining his skills for five years and touring Spain and France with the company. In 2000, he performed in various places on the islands of Lanzarote and Tenerife. He completed his studies in Madrid at the well-known school Amor de Dios, taking classes with Christopher Reyes and Manuel Reyes among others.

In 2002, he was asked to perform at the theme park “Parque España” in Japan where he stayed for a year. He joined Rafael Aguilar’s company in 2003 and toured Australia, New Zealand and Germany. He has been featured as a soloist in María Carrasco’s company performing "Carmen" in Spain, Guatemala and El Salvador.

In 2005 he settled in Granada where he started working at the prestigious "Tablao Albayzín" and teaching flamenco for advanced levels at Carmen de las Cuevas. He started holding classes in many foreign countries, such as China, Russia, Switzerland and Estonia. In 2007 he founded his own company "Flamenco Amarí" and presented his first full shows of flamenco “Sueño de un Ignorante” and “Punto de vista”. In 2009, he traveled to Tokyo and performed on stage with renowned artists such as Enrique el Extremeño at the theatre Sala Andaluza. Javier worked with La Moneta in 2010, who presented her show “Bailar Vivir” at the Bienal de Sevilla. 2011 witnessed his presentation of “Amalgama" at the I Festival de las Cuevas at Sacromonte and in the III Festival de las Cuevas in 2013 he presented “Esencia de un Arquitecto”.
