GENERAL

Where is Granada?
Granada is in the south of Spain, in south-eastern Andalucia, at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains and one hour from the Tropical Coast.

How do you get to Granada?
Most flights go to Malaga and there is an hourly bus service to Granada. There is also an airport in Granada. We offer a “transfer” service from Málaga or Granada airport to the centre.

What is the “transfer”?
The transfer is a private taxi service organised by the school to collect you from the airport and take you to your accommodation in Granada. The price quoted is one way.

And if I come by car, where can I park?
As there is restricted access to the historic Albaicín quarter where the school and accommodation is, we advise you to leave your car in a car park in the centre. However, thorugh the booking form you can also book a parking place close to the school for 13€ per day.

What's the weather like in Granada?
Granada is 700m above sea level and has a mountain climate; there is a lot of difference between daytime and nighttime temperatures, so you will almost always need summer and winter clothes. In winter, the temperature can range from 0 to 15 degrees and in summer they can rise as high as 40 degrees.

Where do the students come from?
Our students come from all over the world and we have many different nationalities: English, French, Dutch, German, Scandinavian, American, Canadian, Japanese, etc.

What is the normal age of students?
Our students must be over 18. The majority are between 20 and 40 years old although there is no age limit.

Are excursions organised?
At the weekends, we offer excursions to other places in Andalucía (Córdoba, Sevilla, the Alpujarras, etc.) with one of our specialist teachers as a guide.

SPANISH AND CULTURE COURSES (back to top of page)

What time are the classes?

How many students are there in each group?
The maximum number of students in a Spanish class is 8.

Can I combine any course?
You can make your own à la carte course combination! - times and level permitting

Can I extend my course once my original enrolment period has finished?
Yes, as long as places are available both in the accommodation and on the course that you want to do. It is therefore a good idea to let us know as soon as possible.

If I am a complete beginner, is it necessary to do a level test?
No, if you have never studied Spanish before it is not necessary. However, if you have any previous knowledge, however basic, it is necessary to do one.

Can I change levels if I am in the wrong class?
The results of the level test are normally quite accurate. However, if you think you are not in the right level, the teachers and director of studies will help you find the right level for you.

Do I get a certificate?
Once you finish your course, you can ask for an attendance certificate, which states the type of course and the number of hours you have completed.  If you do a Three-Month course with us you will also receive a certificate of knowledge.

Can I do a course for one week only?
Yes, all our courses can be booked also for only one week, even if we recommend to stay for longer to take more advantage of your stay here.

Can I book private classes?
Yes, we have an individual course, which consists of one private class a day. You can also do fewer classes a week, but this cannot be booked in advance. This can be organised once the student is at the school according to the availability of rooms and teachers.

The price of the double room is calculated per person and it is necessary to book two places if two people are going to come. The price of the apartment does not change if there are one or two people.

If the accommodation starts on the Monday, where do I sleep if I arrive in Granada on the Sunday
We can book a hostel for you from 25 euros a night. You should indicate what range of prices you would like when you enrol. On Monday when the course starts, we offer a free pick up luggage service from the hotel/hostel to our accommodations.

We can organise a transfer for you from Málaga airport to Granada for 170Euros.

If one person is coming with me but is not going to do a course, can they stay with me?
Yes, if you reserve an apartment and if you are willing to share your room with this person. In this case, you should mention when you enrol that you will need a shared double room because you are coming with someone.

I'm a vegetarian. Is it possible to book family accommodation?
Yes, we have vegetarian families but it is essential that you tell us when you enrol in advance.

RESERVATION, PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION (back to top of page)

Is there a deadline for enrolment?
No, there is no deadline, but the later you enrol, the greater the risk of there not being any places available on the course you want to do, particularly in the high season.

If I give you my credit card details when I enrol, does that mean I have paid?
No, you only pay once we have checked that your enrolment is OK and that there are places available. If there is any problem with your reservation, we will clear it up with you before we take any payment.
